As part of the School Sports Partnership Programme, the funding has allowed us to participate fully in a number of CVSA, CCC, Ventrus and East Devon sporting initiatives, competing at local, area and county level.

Staff members to run a sports club once a term.
Train older children to lead sports activities and games during the lunch break.
Develop active and collaborative play at lunchtimes. Introduce a range of activities so these are accessible by all children EYFS-Year 6. Purchase resources to support outdoor play. Train staff to deliver physical activity during the lunch break. Work with families to encourage children to walk, cycle or scoot to school.

Children will benefit from professional coaches (Saints Southwest and Devon Cricket ‘Chance to Shine.’) in sporting areas.
The number of children participating in local community clubs will increase due to receiving coaching at school.
The teaching of PE is will continue to be consistently good across the school.
|Celebration of success||£125||
Celebration Assembly every Friday to ensure sport success has a high profile, celebrating sporting achievements in and out of school. Achievements to be celebrated with certificates, trophies and medals. Create a sporting achievements and clubs board for children to see. All pupils to receive recognition for sporting and physical achievements across the year. Parents to be invited in for assemblies.
Year 6 Sports Leaders - elected by students and staff - to support PE lessons, check and help maintain PE equipment and assist with events such as 'Run a mile for Comic Relief' and Sports Day. Sports Leader hoodies to be purchased to raise profile of Sports Leaders and be aspirational for other children. Children of all ages to be supported and peer mentored by the Sports Leaders.
Local sporting personalities, champions, instructors etc to be invited in to work with the children and inspire them in sporting activities.
Continue to offer a range of activities both in and out of the curriculum to get more children involved. Focus on those children who are reluctant to take up additional sporting activities. 'Friends of the Earth' outdoor learning to be given to all children, 3 sessions per year. Children to receive access to outdoor spaces in a 'forest school' environment. Children are enthusiastic with increased engagement and positive behaviour. Increase the number of Friends of the Earth sessions for each class; teachers to become more proactive in promoting outdoor learning using our school grounds and surrounding community.
The school has invested in the REAL PE curriculum which will improve the staff’s confidence and subject knowledge. This also includes high quality resources across the year groups.
In order to improve progress of all children, staff will be up-skilled as a result of working alongside SAINTS South West coaches.
Staff will participate in coach-led sessions and mentored to be able to lead sessions themselves.
Termly staff CPD sessions covering a wide range of sports to include basketball, rounders, tennis and tag rugby.
Better subject knowledge for all staff and increased confidence in session delivery. Subject leader will be more confident when supporting staff.
For repairs and improvements to the school playgrounds- enabling an environment where children are stimulated and can physically thrive.Improvements:
Fix cracks and subsiding/ un-even banks
All children are offered the opportunity to go swimming every year at local swimming pools, for a small voluntary contribution towards transportation, pool hire and qualified swimming instructors.
Some of our Sports Funding goes towards making up the difference between the amount of voluntary contributions and the actual cost of the activity. This funding has enabled every child across the school to attend swimming lessons regardless of their current swimming abilities.

The money helps finance part coach transportation to and from a variety of sporting events within the county. We are able to attend all of these sports events without having to rely on parents to provide their own transportation.
Wider Opportunities / Collaborative Partnerships
As part of the School Sports Partnership Programme, the funding has allowed us to participate fully in a number of CVSA, CCC, PAT sporting initiatives and East Devon sporting events, competed at local, area and county level in different disciplines.
The funding has enabled us to forge strong links with the Saints Southwest and we enjoy weekly training and CPD from a highly qualified sporting coach. This year we will be participating in festivals to celebrate what we have learnt during each term as well competing in a variety of sporting tournaments involving other Ventrus schools. This external coaching provision allows us to identify our most talented footballers and form an elite football squad who receive additional weekly coaching and participate in a number of Ventrus football tournaments.
We also have the ‘A Chance to Shine’ cricket coaching programme running in the summer term. This opportunity arose from the local cricket club in a bid to raise the uptake of young players in the community.
CPD - REAL PE
We continue to invest in the REAL PE curriculum. We will continue staff training and development as well as buying new resources in order to deliver this high quality teaching.
Included in this expenditure is the lead PE teacher attending termly local community meetings to share practice, ideas and developments.
