Welcome to our Summer term information letter. What a lot of exciting things we have planned to learn with your children! Below is our curriculum map for the term, which gives you a bit more detail of what we will be learning this term.

Building Learning Power
During the summer term we will continue to use the Building Learning Powers vocabulary to help the children talk about their learning, in line with the school's behaviour policy. Children will be rewarded with plenty of house points, R star awards and golden pupil certificates if they show these learning behaviours exceptionally well. Please refer to the information on our website for more information about the 5 Rs.
Summer Term Topics
This term our learning begins with the topic: Let’s Grow. During this we will learn basic plant parts and what plants need to grow. In our free learning time we will tend to our garden! We will also be exploring our art skills to help us with collaging work. We will focus on challenging ourselves to learn through play, using our environment productively.
In the second half term, we will move on to our topic: Earth Explorers. We will look closely at the animals and people that live on our Earth. We will use our Building Learning Power of noticing to draw and sketch accurately. We also plan to visit Dartmoor Zoo!
In Foundation we begin with a planned theme and then we are led by the children’s own interests when moving forward with our learning.
